He is not one of us who does not show mercy to our young.

Prophet Muhammad said: He is not one of us who does not show mercy to our young. | Fitrah First Parenting
The Prophet ﷺ said:

“He is not one of us who does not show mercy to our young.” (Tirmidhi 1919)
This beautiful hadith reminds us that mercy is not just a virtue — it is a defining trait of a believer.

As mothers, our days are filled with responsibilities, tired moments, and tests of patience. There are times when our children may be difficult, loud, or demanding. Yet, it is in these very moments that our gentleness carries the most weight.

A soft word, a warm embrace, a patient response — these are not small acts. They are acts of ‘ibādah when done for the sake of Allah.

Mercy towards our children nurtures their hearts, builds their trust, and shapes their understanding of love and faith. The way we treat them today becomes the lens through which they will see Islam tomorrow.

Let us remind ourselves:

Speak softly, even when correcting
Hug them, even after a long tiring day
Forgive quickly, just as we hope Allah forgives us

Kindness is not optional — it is Sunnah.

May Allah fill our homes with mercy, soften our hearts, and make us among those who embody the beautiful character of the Prophet ﷺ.
